Exercise:
Aquatic exercise is a very healthy alternative to traditional
aerobic and strength training classes. The water provides
support and minimizes joint irritation while offering a beneficial
resistance to your movements. We offer 3 different class formats
to find the aquatic exercise class best suited to your
needs. The classes run from June 23 - August 15. There is no class on Friday, July 4th and classes are
pro-rated from your enrollment date.
Minimum enrollment numbers are required in each class!
Hydro-aerobics - is an intense,
non-impact workout that will increase your muscle strength, endurance,
flexibility and increase your cardiac conditioning. Some swimming
ability is recommended for this deep water class.
Aquasize - is a shallow water workout
perfect for building your strength, endurance and flexibility without
the impact of land aerobics. A cardio set is included in each
workout.
Specialized - is a recreational
exercise program that may be beneficial to anyone recovering from an
injury, surgery or bothered by a chronic muscle or joint
condition. Attention is paid to increasing joint rotation and
muscle stretching to increase flexibility and improve tone. Some
aerobic conditioning is included and will increase as the class
progresses. (not offered in the Summer)
Hydro-size - is a combination of Aquasize and Hydro-aerobics using both shallow water stretches and deep water cardio conditioning.
A doctor's approval is recommended before starting this or any exercise program.
